| Hmmm... I haven't posted in awhile it seems. Well, slight update:
-I'm continuing to work on and improve my new Autism forum, Gestalt.
-I've begun a new blog/profile on MySpace (I figured, what the hell, post a link = free advertising for Gestalt ).
-My semester at school is about to end. Finals are this coming week. I
have one final exam, one regular test, and two art critiques. I still
have two art projects I need to finish.
-My art professor continues to try to convince me to become an art
major instead of going into psychology. I don't think it's a good idea
because I don't draw or paint unless I have someone there to ooh
and aah. I am not internally motivated to produce a lot of art. This
would be unwise for me to attempt to make a career out of it despite
whatever talent I have.
-I have still yet to turn my wall clock ahead to match daylight savings time. I am lazy.
-My two mice, Tom and Junior, are both alive and doing very well. I
need to find them some new toys though because I think they might be getting a
tad bored. Even mice require some novelty in life. The trick is not
giving them too much novelty to stimulate a nervous breakdown.
I know there's other stuff going on but I can't think of it at the moment. So that'll have to do for now. Ta.

| I've
got a new phpBB forum for folks on the Autistic Spectrum, family and
friends of those with Autism, and for anyone who's just plain
interested in the disorders. The forum is very new and small, but we're
gathering more members little by little.

| Here's my latest forum signature. I thought it was appropriate enough to have its own blog post:
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of
the Monarchy of the United States of America, and to the Theocratic
Tyranny for which is stands, one vast totalitarian empire, under Bush,
apathetic, with more Money and Power for the rich."

| Well,
I've got both my new mice on the antibiotics. It's been hell trying to
learn how to give a teeny tiny little mouse medicine. Contrary to how
easy the vet makes it look, it's a difficult task accomplish. I
wouldn't normally call a mouse slippery, but they are.
The vet said that Tom, my slightly older mouse, sounded worse than
Junior when she was listening to her chest. Junior, she said, sounded
pretty good. It's possible that Tom has pneumonia. But, with a couple
days of antibiotics under her belt (she's been the more agreeable of
the two), I don't hear her sniffling much anymore. And a "quiet mouse
is a healthy mouse"-- unless of course that quiet is accompanied by not
breathing and then sadly that's a dead mouse.
Junior is still sniffling some, but I've had greater difficulty getting
her to take all the medicine so she hasn't really been on as long as
Tom has (consistently). But she's getting a little better. I'm used now
to her using my hand as a restroom facility though. And my two (huge) hands are now definitely associated in her mind as EVIL!!!
I'm just going to have to live with that for the time being, even
though I don't like being the big meany. Hopefully, she'll slowly learn
to trust me after this regimen of antibiotics is over.
I've also switched their bedding. I used to use pine but the aroma of
the pine only aggravates their respiratory illness, so yesterday I
bought some recommended corn cob bedding (which to me smells, too, but
maybe it's something about the aroma of pine and cedar specifically
which just makes this illness worse).
But anywho, I've been playing nurse maid for about the past two weeks,
what with Jerry's illness and death and now these two who are
thankfully NOT on the brink of death like Jerry was but still ill. I'm so glad Tom appears to be improving.
Wish me luck. They've got about another week and a half of antibiotics left to go.
